What’s New in 5.2.0 Release

OctoXLabs 5.2.0 introduces a powerful new way to explore your data with the launch of Widgets, giving you more flexibility and control over your dashboards. This release also brings major performance improvements with optimized Elasticsearch memory usage, resulting in faster and more stable query experiences. Alongside these, we’ve added new adapters, improved existing integrations, enhanced dashboard management, and introduced several usability and security updates to deliver a more responsive and secure platform overall.

Widgets

We’ve introduced Widgets to dashboards to help you visualize data more flexibly compared to existing charts. With Widgets, you can easily understand key insights through visually engaging and interactive components. You can now add various Widgets alongside your existing charts to enhance your dashboard experience.

New widgets include:

  • Connection Statuses

  • Adapter Based Device Counts

  • Group By Widgets

  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Trend Widgets

  • Overall, Severity, and Query-Based Security Scores

  • Historical Count for Queries

  • Time Differential for All Adapters

  • Total Device Count and Total User Count

Widgets offer greater flexibility, empowering users to customize their dashboards precisely to their operational needs.

Major Features

Elasticsearch RAM Optimization

We’ve optimized Elasticsearch’s RAM usage significantly, reducing resource demands while improving query performance and responsiveness. This optimization ensures more efficient memory utilization, enabling you to manage more and larger discovery data.

Users will experience greater stability and faster data retrieval, contributing to an overall smoother and faster user experience across OctoXLabs.

Minor Features

  • Added new validation rules to Connection Options.

  • Added redirection to Inventories in Query-Based Charts/Widgets.

  • Dashboard Lock/Unlock feature added for better management.

  • Improved the Dashboard Save Process for easier and faster operations.

  • New Discovery Bar and History for improved navigation and data exploration.

  • Column Resize functionality now available in tables.

  • Device notes are now searchable.

  • Added new viewing and search functionalities within Inventory Specifics.

  • Default Dashboard Permissions added.

  • Customizable Scheduled Report Titles now available.

  • Permissions now support keyword searches.

New Adapters

We’ve expanded compatibility by adding support for the following adapters:

  • Symantec DLP Users

  • Jamf Classic

  • Logsign

Adapter and Action Job Improvements

  • Qualys now supports IP Aggregation.

  • Added Product Filter option for Trend Micro Apex One.

  • Manage Engine Primary Key is now selectable.

  • Domain mapping is available for Manage Engine DC and Trend Micro DS.

  • OS String updated in Guardium.

  • Cleaned installed software names in SentinelOne.

  • Openshift Port values can now be modified.

  • FortiNAC adapter updated to latest version.

  • Source Translation added to Palo Alto PanOS.

  • Nessus adapter now supports IP and MAC Aggregation.

  • Action Center Jira job can now create devices.

  • New record types added to Infoblox DDI.

  • Carbon Black and Binalyze AIR adapters now have timeout and page size options.

  • IBM QRadar OS Type updated.

  • HTTP support enabled for WinRM and PowerShell Adapters.

  • Installed Software details available in Microsoft Intune adapter.

  • SCCM now captures Serial Numbers.

  • EPSS Score integrated into Tenable SC.

Security Improvements

  • Login throttling implemented for enhanced security.

  • Security headers added to NGINX.

  • PostgreSQL upgraded to the latest stable version.

Bugfixes

  • Resolved PDQ input format issue.

  • Corrected Kaspersky SC “last seen” values.

  • Fixed color inconsistencies in Time Differential Chart.

  • Boolean values corrected in Group By Charts.

  • SUSE Manager time format adjusted.

  • Fixed pagination issues with Aruba.

  • Device manual tags bug fixed.

  • Corrected exclude groups functionality in McAfee ePO.

  • Inventory specifics search bug resolved.

  • Primary key issue fixed in Forescout NAC.

  • Xurrent integration corrected in Action Center.

  • MacOS device identification issue resolved in Crowdstrike.

  • Action Center query selection fixed.
